“A Night of Celebration for Legacy”
05/01/2011 - By Houston, Texas

“A Night of Celebration for Legacy”

Legacy Community Health Services toasted “A Night of Celebration for Legacy”, Sunday, May 1 in Neiman Marcus’ second floor couture salon.

The evening was a Big Band-style cocktail party with over 210 guests in attendance and a special ‘thank you’ to all of those who made 2010 Legacy’s best year yet by surpassing 12 million of the 15 million Capital Campaign and assisting in meeting The Mabee Challenge and to Celebrate Legacy’s 30 years of service. Julia Frankel and Bob Devlin chaired this special night, as Jackson & Co. provided hors d’ouevres, and Kristine Mills and Bryan Anthony crooned the crowd with live jazz and blues entertainment.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Jerry D. Bartee, Assistance Fund Suite. It is one suite in honor of Jerry D. Bartee who raised over one million dollars to cover the cost of insurance and medication for those in need. Jerry believed in the mission of Legacy Community Health Services and worked to ensure Legacy's growth in order to meet the increasing healthcare needs of the greater Houston community. The Assistance Fund will be a suite in the new building where Legacy will be doing financial services. Each guest left the party with a sterling silver Blessing Bowl enclosed with a note stating, “Our World Celebrates The Blessing of You.” It was truly a night to Celebrate!

Guests Included Chairs Julia Frankel and Bob Devlin, Margaret Williams, Diane Lokey Farb, Melanie Gray and Mark Wawro, Carrin Patman, Pat Breen, Monsour Taghdisi, Debra and Mark Grierson, Carolyn Farb, Mary Ann and David McKeithan, Judith Oudt, Claire Thielke, Legacy’s Katy Caldwell and Chree Boydstun, Frank Campisi, Barbara and Ulyesse LeGrange, George Hawkins, Bob Jones, Tripp Carter, Bill Dodson, Frank Billingsley, Milton Townsend, Jackson Hicks, Tim Surrant and Mike Hollliman.

Legacy Community Health Services is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in Houston. Each year they provide low-cost or no-cost healthcare services to over 20,000 Houston area men, women and children.
