National Hellenic Museum Fall Gala
10/23/2010 - By Chicago, IL

National Hellenic Museum Fall Gala

Close to 600 guests gathered to support the National Hellenic Museum's at its annual black-tie gala.

Held at the Hilton Chicago, the evening's theme was, “The newest thing in ancient history.” The Museum is in the middle of constructing a 40,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Greektown, Chicago. It is the only major museum dedicated to telling the story of Greek history from ancient times to today in the United States.

The newest thing in Chicago cuisine, Jimmy Bannos, Jr., chef/owner of the Purple Pig Restaurant was the consulting chef behind a sumptuous menu. The creator of the hit Lookingglass theatre production of Hephaestus desinged a living ambience that celebrated the ancient Greek past. The evening also included a silent and live auction. Music was provided by the R & B band, Private I, and the John Linardakis Orchestra.
